best reel for frogging??

What reel do all you froggers like best?

i used to use a pflueger president..but I stripped a gear, because I had the drag buttoned down so tight...there is something about that drag system..its soft causing it to slip..when you button it down..
so anyways..I switched to a diawa advantage HST which is WAY better. the drag does NOT slip. and it casts really well! plus a good price. you cant go wrong with a curado as well..they are just a bit more $ also the advantage is smaller. just stay away from pfleuger for froggin. when you go to the store to look. button the drag all the way down and hold your thumb on the spool hard..if it slips...thats not good for froggin.

You know just got the new Curado 7:1. I love it.
I reel the handle twice and the fish is in the boat.

Ive never tryed it but take a look at the quantium burner 7.5:1 gear ratio or something stupid fast like that. Quantium is starting to put out some real quality products from what Ive been hearing!

I just received the Daiwa Viento Baitcast with the unique Twitchin' Bar for Fatherâ€™s day from my Daughter and I used it this weekend â€“ it quivers, shake, twitches, and jerks with just a push of my thumb. You want to see a frog come alive get the Viento. It makes your frog work on the water like a Pro was behind the rod, even for non-pro like myself. It just fits real nice on my new Daiwa Froger rod that my wife got me for Fatherâ€™s day.

Itâ€™s good to be King for a day!

Awesome reel for this application. Braid sings off it too - casts a mile.

Check eBay - I've bought several there NIB the past few months and haven't paid over $160 yet.

tho they are 7:1 gear ratio, the Quantums retrieve 28" per crank, whereas the Curado 7:1 retrieves 30" per crank. regular Curados retrieve 25" per crank, the daiwa Vientos & Fuegos 26" per crank - has to do with spool size and gearing i think..
there's more to frogging than the speed, though it does count..

I think the main differance is spool size with the burner and curado. the curado is way bigger. I just won a burner on ebay. and will be switching out my advantage for that. broadway tackle (ebay store) is taking really "reasonable" offers on their burners. i offered $175 and they took it!

also they have curados. but a burner is one I dont have. I like to mix it up a bit. make them an offer!
