Thomas Garchione of Waterford, Wisconsin holds up a new pending world record redear sunfish he caught in Lake Havasu Tuesday afternoon that weighed in at 6.3 pounds on the certified scale at Bass Tackle Master. Each of the last two world record sunfish were also caught in Lake Havasu.

Those fish have two step bellies because they are so full of quaggas.

Never thought I would see a sunfish over 6 pounds, much less 6-5

Great looking "panfish!".. Not sure it would fit in a pan!!! Congrats!!

A note about "panfish!"

I would like to see the "pan" that fish would fit into! Great fish and photo!!!

When looking at a big "panfish" like this one, the photo will only show left to right and top to bottom

Where the trophy "panfish" put on much of their weight is side to side. Same for a trophy crappie.

Even though the photo was great, it won't show the width of the fish. That is where some of the weight is

A panfish over 6 pounds is incredible - congratulations to Mr Garchione!. But it does look like the big panfish from Lake Havasu suffer from obesity related issues... :lol:
