LAKE OROVILLE, Calif. — Dozens of houseboats are being pulled out of Lake Oroville this week due to falling water levels. The California Department of Parks and Recreation at Lake Oroville has been working on the low water plan with the California Department of Water Resources (DWR).
Aaron Wright, the Public Safety Chief for the Lake Oroville State Recreation Area said 130 houseboats were flagged for removal because they are moored in shallow water and could be damaged as the water levels go down and underwater islands emerge.
