Clear lake herbicide dump ?

Saw a post on social media today , video clip of a flat bed semi truck backed down the Lakeport ramp , at 5th st. it had several 500 gal chem totes , full of weed killer ! they were spraying it all right down the ramp into the lake ! WTF ? anyone have any info about this ?....

What doesn’t surprise you? County and State agencies value revenue of recreational boating over the health of a lake. Meanwhile, tourists will not spend their hard earned money to launch and play in “cheese.” Sadly, this has become the norm on the Delta and throughout the country’s top fisheries. It hurts to see, but if tournament directors and DFG can’t properly manage their own resources, then what makes ya think local municipalities will as well?

Didn't I hear they were having trouble with traction on the ramp due to algae? Perhaps a remedy to prevent liability? Who knows...

Nothing new .
They spray the weeds every year and all the way into fall.Have for as long as ive lived here.
Fought with Water Resource board and tried to get CA DFW involved in it years ago when I ran the shop.
DFW said it wont effect enough of the lake at once to make a difference.
The weeds if left alone would filter a lot of the water.
The weeds die off every winter on their own yet the state would still spray in November.
Poisoned water goes to Colusa rice fields and also into homes around the lake and locals shower in it.
