American Bass Anglers Kayak Series (ABA) held their 5th. regular season event on Lake Perris on Saturday, 6/26/21. 40 anglers came out to brave the heat and to see if they could hook into some Lake Perris lunkers. The water temp was at 80 degrees with clarity in the 4 to 5-foot range. The bluebird skies combined with the heat resulted in a tough bite for most anglers. Out of the 40, only 7 were able to secure a limit and they all got paid! The top producing baits were: worms fished on the dropshot and shaky head. Jigs and Senkos were also producing. Most fish were found in the 10 to 20-foot range.

Tim O’Connor of Santee, CA with an 83.25 inch five fish limit. Tim was fishing the Roboworm 7” Margarita Mutilator on the dropshot.

Big Fish of the tournament was a 25-inch tank caught by Jay Scarcella of Santee, CA. His big fish succumbed to the dropshot as well but this time it was a 6” Oxblood Red Flake.

Here’s your top ten:
1. Tim O’Connor – 83.25 inches
2. Brian Leppke – 82.75 inches
3. Shane LemMon – 81.25 inches
4. John Toscano – 79.75 inches
5. Kou Yang – 79.00 inches

7. Jay Scarcella – 72.00 inches
8. Chris Kimbro – 70.00 inches
