I hate to say it since the government usually screws things up, but really should think about confirming with FG to make sure it’s not invasive. Doesn’t look like hitch to me, but never seen one that big before either. We don’t need some type of invasive carp that some F’ing idiot turned loose…

It is a native minnow to Clear Lake. My question, what lure or bait did it eat? The link below discusses history of blackfish on Clear Lake.

I showed the image to a US Fish and Wildlife Service fish identification specialist and he said "Sacramento blackfish" and "man, that thing is huge"...cool fish, thanks for sharing.

right on guys, sac black fish it is... fishwithwill thanks for the article out of the record bee, it was worth the read... i see its an acient minner like ze ol hitch but differnt and now I know. my bud, rip PJ, saw a few big bass chasing stuff near a rocky point and we fired at it, he had a glide bait and stuck this thing in the side foul, the ensuing fight made us think he had a decent bass and he said "net" and i netted this this thing to our suprise. he was a guide on clear lake and told me it was a hitch but biggest hitch he ever seen, i used to live down there years ago and saw hitch before but never bigger than regular minners i seen before and I was curious if any of the clear lake goons on here had ever encountered minnowzilla... We did catch a couple trout eaters that trip, he got a almost 7 to beat my hi fiver, we had a solid 20 plus bag... he thinks all the threes and fours are rats on clear lake and wasnt happy with our sack i was stoked on, ol ten pound slayer he was... but yeah boys never came across no minnerziller till i netted that one there
