Restore the Delta Climate Water Advocate Paid Intern Position

Post by WB Staff »

With the renewal of our grant from the James Irvine Foundation, we are excited to announce that we recruiting our new class of Climate Water Advocates!

Climate Water Advocate Interns complete 30 hours of in-depth training on California water policy, climate change, and all aspects of Delta management from water rights to history, to fishery science, to water quality needs and monitoring, to flood control. They use this initial training to conduct social media campaigns, to read and respond to state and federal management plans for the Delta, to prepare to address government agencies on Delta community concerns, and to engage in further training in water quality testing and data gathering. This is an entry-level professional position that requires good communication skills (written, verbal, and through technology), a desire to learn, and the opportunity to put knowledge gained into practical use in a variety of job skills. As advocates complete training, we help them find the niche that they want to work in (science, social science, policy, history, marketing, media) to advance the work of the organization. Those with interdisciplinary interests and skills thrive within the program.
This is a paid internship for college students.
