I wanted to head up there this weekend but I don’t know if the drought has impacted the launch sites.
Typically I use either Capell Cove or the Putah Creek locations
Has anyone launched at Berryessa lately
Re: Has anyone launched at Berryessa lately
Surely someone has fished Berryessa lately and can comment on the ramps.

I'm thinking it's time to put a fork in this site. Not many to help, etc! Kind of sad, actually!

Re: Has anyone launched at Berryessa lately
Hi Pete,
It's been a long long time and I hope you are well. How is Vince, he must be in his 20's by now!
So the cigar thing, yeah if I am fishing I have cigars with me.
20 years ago I was fishing the Delta working a tule line and here comes Cooch working it in my direction. We knew each other, (well mostly I knew about him) so we stop to chat a little bit. He said he was out of cigarettes and wanted to bum a smoke, so I told him these were strong cigars and that I don't inhale but he wanted to give it a go anyway so I hooked him up. I cut it, gave him the torch to light up and he was good to go.
He proclaimed that from that moment on I was "Coochified" as Stogieman which is where all that came from.
Berryessa was tough for me, I caught just 4 fish and no bite until 11am!. I was headed back about noon and stopped to fish the first major point south of the Putah ramp, there are islands right there and I dragged a C-rig with a baby brush hog, 8-10 feet depth. The key was they wanted it fast.
I noticed while reeling up the C-rig for another cast/ drag that a small mouth chased my bait right to the boat. So I but the TM on a higher power and occasionally pumped the rod and got the 4.
Getting off the lake was a NIGHTMARE. I waited 1.5 hours in line to get to the ramp. The single lane was a problem but the line started where the pavement ends as you enter. If you have launched there then you know where that is.

Interesting story... Vince is now 34 doing fine. All is well here.
