Eastman lake

Post by jiggin4bass »

Good news there doing a complete repaving of the road from road 26 turn on to ave 26 all the way to the lake. Bad news there letting the water go now.
More good new the fishing is excellence. :D My son Doug hasn't fished with me in about 7 years but today he landed his PB a shade over 5lbs. On his second cast of the afternoon we ended up fishing 4 hour we had 12 bass and the fish are schooling up as water is dropping we use my 1/4 oz. bullet head jigs with Yamamoto 4" twin tail grubs in 10 to 12 feet of water. We fished 2 area today and both were holding a lot of fish. The bass are biting all day
And night fishing should be crazy. Watch for rocks just under the surface some are starting to show. They are also releasing water out of Hensley lake also traffic is light at both lakes

I've never been... I've hunted around the lake but I need to make the trip down there to check it out one of these weekends before it's empty. How is the launch ramp... does it close when the lake level hits a certain point? Thx

Right now the second ramp on the day use side is still good I'm sure if they take it down below the third ramp on the camping side they'll log the ramp off. Right now the fishing is good once they started dropping the lake the bass started schooling up I caught two or three today and reeling them up other bass were swimming up with the hook fish trying to get the jig. Swim jigs would be another great bait to use a lot of bushes sticking out of the water.
I didn't try my chatterbaits. My wife and I are going back up tomorrow. It well be the same as it was today.

If you guys have high dollar bass boats the roads are striped down for paving in some areas and there gravel in the areas low spots so drive slow lot of markers on the roads up to the lake no passing. It's not stopping me from going it's dusty drive up and back down.

Hi all,
I haven't been to Eastman in awhile, and now that Ave 26 is no longer an axle wrecker I thought I would go check out what is left of the lake. If anyone has any info on which launch ramp is available/open it would certainly be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jeff

Yes you can launch on back side of the lake new larger boat dock in the water extends out in the water more. Stay in the middle channel when idling out too the the open part of the lake.

There no other company today that I know of that can do this type of work. I build several types of skirt patterns in both finesse and regular skirt patterns. And add accents in when tying.

Kind of late to the party with this one, but there still are some big girls in that lake.
