Do I have a bad transducer?

Post by Whoopbass »

I have a Humminbird Onix graph at the helm. I was fishing and just happened to walk back in time to watch the bottom of the lake work its way off the screen. The graph won't display a picture, depth, or temp reading. Down imaging doesn't work either. Everything else on the graph works fine. The wire and puck have no damage. I've never had this happen before but I suspect the transducer. Thoughts??

I went outside and turned it on. I do hear the transducer ticking. I restored it to factory default and the temp is working now so maybe its working. Can't tell in the driveway.

Check the cable where it connects to the graph if you have not. Vibration might have it loose

Depending on what day you were fishing, it may have overheated. Switch to simulator and view screen in driveway. If it's working , it's not the screen which is probably good news.

My Solix did the same thing last week. Factory reset fixed it. Take a extra transducer and plug it to the back and drop it overboard to test.
