NEW CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF WILDLIFE REQUIREMENT

FOR TOURNAMENT BOATS!
American Bass, the Largest Team Tournament Organization
in the West...since 1983!

Greetings Tournament Anglers!

We have a New CDFW Regulation for boaters during ALL California fishing competitions.

If the lake you are fishing does NOT have an Invasive Species inspection, or if the Invasive Species inspection is closed, each boater is required to perform a Self-Inspection of their boat and complete a form. The CDFW requires you to show the form to a Tournament Official at each event prior to launching.

The form is DFW 777. It is a Fillable PDF. It is a very simple form. Each boater can keep it in their phone in the PDF format. The boater can also use a printed copy for each event and keep the copy with them during the day. You do need to have the event date on the form. Check with your American Bass Regional Director for when they want to see the document.

The form is NOT collected and you do NOT have the to submit electronic copies.

Again, this is NOT required if the lake has an invasive species inspection operating during the launch.

Also, it IS required at lakes that are already infested with Quagga Mussels. We are not aware of "Pre-Launch" invasive species inspections at lakes that are known to have Quagga Mussels.

This new form is only for boats during a competition. The form is NOT required during Pre-Fish, Fun-Fish, or any General Public launching, only the boats participating in any Tournament.
