Crupi & Kadota Bodasious Bass, the pair didn’t fish together but certainly dominated the giant bass anglers at Castiac.
Crupi is the only bass angler to catch 2 giant bass over 20lbs, definitely crowns him as king of gisnt bass angler.
I fished Castiac a lot during it’s prime and never reached the 20 lb threshold, close but no cigar. It was my choice to use lures in lieu of live crawdads, looking back handicapped myself for no reason.
Crupi was harassed constantly by jealous bass anglers who claimed he was cheating using live trout, false claims. Bob Crupi was a cop why would he cheat, unfair accusations that damaged his reputation.
R.I.P. Mr.Crupi.

Nicest guy...Very approachable and always had upbeat help for those of us who were floundering. Great ambassador for the sport who will be missed. Rip and my condolences to his family.

I fished Castaic during its hey day ! the big bass bug had hit a lot of fisherman ! I would get in line the night before because by the time they opened the gate in the morning there would be 60+ boats in line ! it really bugged me how Crupi would cut in line and they would let him be 1st boat in ! he fished almost every day and was claiming disability from his job but yet he would pull double anchors all day as he moved spot to spot !

The guides like Gary Harrison and Sampson took advantage but I don’t recall Crupi jumping around he was a camper sitting on a spot in old sh$T house all day. Give the guy break he more than deserves it.
I would get to the at 7 am and let the crazies launch and run and have what I wanted to fish all to myself. Crupi knew want he was doing and the lake lice were always on top of him. Quite man who somehow kept his focus.

So you're saying I could be in line at Castaic for 6 hours and when the lake opened the powers that be would let a handful of A-holes jump line and go first? F-that.

I've gotten over a lot of things in life, like your obsolete jigs for example but I will never get over cutting in line.

You can only be young once, but you can always be immature. As you really do not know the circumstances or story behind this alleged crime of the century that lead you to being 61 st. instead of being 60th to the launch ramp you have every right to take that to the grave with you. Most of us just object to the narcissistic timing of your it's all about me complaint. I'm sure everyone here has been slighted by another angler or had reason to have bad feelings about another angler but it is truly classless to bring it up while people are grieving or giving testimonials in his behalf.
My opinion only and does not reflect that of management or the people that moderate this site.

it wasn’t his cutting in line that bugged me as much as he was one of those cheating the system collecting state disability while obviously perfectly fit to work !

Man, you clowns need to get a life and let it go. You had to wait 40 years to talk ****. Little late for that. My guess you clowns didn't have the stones to confront Bob face to face. BTW he also used to go to Flaming Gorge chasing trophy browns in March. So shut it.

I understand your feelings about what you consider a failure of the system concerning somebody scamming the system based on ???? Your first hand knowledge??? Doubtful, but still besides the point....However what is glaringly apparent is your anger has been misplaced in this thread. You don't hear me yelling about the fact that my own sister gamed the system as a cop and makes 6ok a year for life here in California for an injury she never sustained.
You need to button your lip and engage your brain as your opinions and brand have been dealt a death blow by letting your mouths and response's run along repeatedly after being told by others that this is not the time or place for your anger. In a private P.M. I predicted you two would have shut up after being shamed over a place in line and a feeling you have about something you know little or nothing about.
You proved me wrong as you two have little or no common sense for interfering in a thread that really you had nothing to add to.
I don't post much anymore because of threads like this and your not making it very easy to share with others on the site as I would never give a bone to you two mentally starving dogs..... which is not why the site was created.
Don't like what I just wrote? Than send me a p.m. but kindly keep away from the announcement of someone you don't knows death as it is both shameful to watch and read. Plain and simple> GO AWAY and Stay away . Would I miss anything if you left the site? Again, doubtful but now that I know the depth and breadth of you two, I imagine it is business as usual for opinions that are all about yourselves and have nothing to do with fishing. I await your responses as I know all about your brand and opinions and you are BOTH incapable of doing what is right in this case.
