..I am trying something new. JOGGING!!
I'm not getting any younger. hell, I would be happy with a slow down, or a stop..but nope. older. i went fishing in Brazil recently. long days, in brutal heat and humidity. and the working a peacock bass lure is like CROSSFIT. there was more than one time, I thought my heart would just stop and I die in a foreign country. ( I did buy insurance to get my carcass home). I was clearly not in shape for the trip. bass fishing in my kayak is 10% of the effort. even on high mileage days. and I just bought a motor for my kayak!!
so now that I am not fishing as much during the winter, I figure I should use my time wisely. I wake up at 4:00 am almost naturally anyways. instead of flipping on the iPad,and putting on headphones, I get dressed and wake my dog up and we are doing 2 miles slowly. my dog is finally with the program and is going my chosen speed, and not his. previous attempts, he tried to kill me with sprints.
I like how it is dark out. flashlight, glow collar on the dog..we go.
I was told it takes seven consecutive days to make it a habit. FAAACK..I am not there yet. I'd be happy with 4 miles 4 days a week, I think. I'll see how this plays out. jogging isn't my thing.
since winter fishing has slowed down my frequency...
