Bit of a concept to grasp at first but its been researched for the past 75 years. To date, I haven't seen anything to put the results so far in understandable language.
Took me quite a while to grasp the concept involved. That fish (and other animals including humans) have two layers of behaviour control.
One that runs automatically (biological clock) and another that reacts to local environmental changes (circadian rhythms).
A few thinking anglers have been playing around with their versions of the "biological clock" concept under various names for a while.
The easiest way to grasp the concepts involved is the analogy with modern day motoring (the vehicle computer and the on-board sensors). There's info on that analogy in the pages below.
