Where's WWN post? Upside down frogs

Post by Fast Eddie »

To begin I spent a long time yesterday on what I thought was a very entertaining post about WWN5. When completed I press submit and...........POOF! it all disappears and I'm asked to log in. WTH? I can't do the the writing without logging in. This has happened several times in the past and is very frustrating to an old guy whose original computer was lead, wood and rubber :D . Sent an email to the administrator, so we'll see what happens.

So on WWN 4 I'm throwing a brand new Bobby's Perfect Frog on the mat when Kersplash a 1lbr takes it down. Release the fish and now the frog after casting runs upside down on the mat. :?: Weight is still there. Any of y'all have any idea what's going on or why, as I could use the help.
Thanks

So after a certain amount of time without submitting or clicking on anything within the site, the site will think you aren't there and it will "log you out" and then when you click to submit if you have "timed out" it will ask you to log in again. It is a built in "security precaution" One workaround that we have been known to use, is that if it has been a significant amount of time since you have clicked on something in the site and you are possibly timed out, you can copy your text in the post and then hit submit. If it asks you to log in again, when you do, you will have all of your text copied and ready for pasting.

Another workaround that we have done is to open a 2nd window and click to make a new post. If asked to log in first, we know we've been timed out, but we have the first window with the text in the post box to copy and paste into the newly opened second window.

Hope to read the next WWN post.

This site has had that timeout thing happen since Nico ran it - probably ain't changing anytime soon  But i do feel your pain :D

As for the new snag-proof frogs, while I am sure that Bobby could teach us how to get them to run well, my experience has been that the paint comes off easily and that they don't hold up like they used to. Perhaps you could wrap some solder on the shank of the hook to make it keel down a bit better? My guess is the tube inside is jacked up

No one is exactly sure on the "time out" duration. Personaly I will say sometimes it seems to be awfully quick and then other times it doesn't but that's just probably dependent on how many distractions there are at the moment. :?:
