I knew it was going to be one of those days, when I stopped by the taqueria at discovery bay and ordered a shredded beef burrito and coke. Two bites into the burrito and I'm chewin on shrimp. Must be something new, shrimp and beef. A few minutes later more shrimp......where's the beans? Wait this isn't shredded beef it a shrimp burrito. WTH. The nice lady at the register is going to give me what I want, but I tell her no need, I'll eat this. She was very embarrassed, but it was lunch time and getting busy.....no sense making a mountain out of a mole hill. Off to Ladds.
Josh is already there, load up the boat but notice the guy in front of us is in the shade of the island. (this always cracks me up, as these guys are going to spend 6 or more hours in the sun but position themselves in the shade and screw up the lines) Before I digress I have one more observation. (this probably coincides with the Zaldain incident). Then there was the Gilroy gut who decided after being in outside lane, he would jump to the inside lane. That's the etiquette that's lacking in some west coast fisherman. It's too bad. Then the guy he cuts in front of screws up the order of the lines, it was like rookies day at the ramp.

(I gotta get a camera

) What I thought was interesting was the Sherriff's boating safety officer swingsin, then a few minutes later here comes fish and game. F&G leaves and sheriff starts to make a swing around the boats checking for quagga stickers, and registrations. All were verbal as I don't believe any tickets were written.
Off we go to our first spot. We arrive dry for a change.

Right away Josh picks up a keeper. Then I get one, and while unhooking my fish Josh dumps a 3+. Yep....gonna be one of those nights. On to spot 2. Wind is howling and there are 18" rollers. Fish on! Striper...crap. Striper crap. Apparently we found the striper motherlode. Ok spot 3 and success. We catch 2 more. We've got 11lbs when we leave for spot 4. Frog bite is on, but nothing big. 11 lbs ain't cuttin it. Shame we couldn't back up last weeks.
Congratulations to Phil and Aaron again for being top dog. Took 16 and change again to get paid. Boat #s are increasing as we had 52 boats.

PSS If any of you are going to Ladds, just an FYI, 2 lanes are closed in the middle dock for repair.
