What is the Western Rally?

Last night I tried to explain it to someone who regularly comes on the forum.
To sum it up in three letters..it's FUN.

and I love to have FUN.

This will be my third Western "NutCase" Rally.
Here's why I enjoy this event.
It's getting together with folks like myself so enjoy the chase for these green fish.
There's no money to win, just the coveted "TopNut" Award.
You win this and your a nutcase legend.
There's the "BigNut" award...you catch the biggest Bass and it's yours.
You've got the "OddNut" award, just ask mac (Doyle McEwen) how to get that one. BTW don't do what mac did and stick your hand into the mouth of a 12 pound catfish. It Hurts.
Last but not least, the "NumbNut" Award. This award is what everyone works so hard NOT to get.
This prestious award went to Jenny DeLorenzi last year. What did she do to earn this award.
Simple...get your line stuck in Dewayne's trolling motor and yell "Fish On-Get the Net", will always win you this award.

If we'll all fortunate, Cooch may even do his famous "Pole Dance."

By the time this weekend is up we will have had a Blast and the NutCase awards will have been handed out.

If you love having FUN...put it on the calender for next year...


BTW, this is all possible because of one man....sTony has been here for two days putting everything together, just so a bunch of NutsCases can have some F.U.N.

By the way Seig, the only reason I stuck my fingers in that fishes mouth was to retrieve my lure..The son of a gun would not willingly open his mouth, so I did it for him..Definitely not recommended if you take blood thinners..This causes your boater to go wild with all of the blood you may be getting on his carpet..I think I got most of it on me however, then we had to go find a band aid..Thank goodness one of our fellow ralliers was fishing nearby and had a stocked first aid kit..But other than that I can readily say Seig pretty much described the Western Rally, except for the food, the raffle, and the "Nutcases" you will get to meet and talk with..I just wish I could be there again this year..

For me the Rally is about the people.
Some of the Rallyers I only see once a year, at the Rally.
But I consider all of those people to be friends of mine.

Miguel Amodio plucked my badge out of the bucket a few years ago, and during our fishing session we became friends. Every year now I can count on a big smile and hug from Miguel. Even though we hadn't seen each other in a year it was like it was yesterday.

I hadn't seen Darrel Hagood in several years. When we shook hands at the Rally on Friday it was like we had seen each other last week.

I could list a whole bunch of other NutCases that fit into this category. Steve and Vicki Green, Tom Guercio, Johhny C., Jason Conser, etc. etc.

And now I have a few more to add to the list: Tom Machado, Jenny and Bob D., Alex, Ken from SoCal, and so on and so on.

Some of the other NutCase I see on a semi-regular basis: Angel, Dan M., Bob S., Tony, Dewayne, Sieg.

All of these great people I have met through the Rally. I'm always kicking myself in the butt on the way home from the Rally when I realize there were a lot people I didn't get to meet and become friends with. Hopefully I'll meet a lot more new friends next year.

The fishing is great, the food is great, but the best thing about the Rally...it's the people.

We're in. The"Son of the Champ" would be real disappointed after all that practice in the pool. He's getting pretty good mechanically, now if I could just get him to handle his own fish, my hands still hurt from last week!!!!!!Now he's on me to let him fish the "Cops" tournament up at Don Pedro in September.
