Anyone stay at the Konocti Harbor Resort since it reopened last year?
Anyone stay at the Konocti Harbor Resort since it reopened last year?
I saw online that the Konocti Harbor Resort reopened last year. I'm heading up to Clear Lake for June 6th-14th. Does anyone have any experience with the resort since it reopened? Is it safe, clean, friendly, and easy to charge your batteries? Thanks.

The rooms certainly got a facelift from the last time we stayed there in 2008. Check out the pricing though. It’s almost $250 a night with all the fees and for that price I’d rather have a big unit with a kitchen over at Clear Lake Cottages.

I want to stay at the Clear Lake Vista Resort, but they don't answer their phone. The rates were about $175 when I looked online at Konocti Harbor. They may have a bunch of hidden fees. Are you still running the ferry? I have heard people on here say that they like the cottages.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Tue Apr 29, 2025 5:00 pm The rooms certainly got a facelift from the last time we stayed there in 2008. Clearlake Vista has a For Sale sign again.

Thanks. I hope someone buys it that renovates it. I love its location and setup, but it needs to be remodeled. Soda bay is pretty and peaceful.

How is the parking with trailer at Clear Lake Cottages? Great place to stay but last time I was there they really messed up the parking with their rental boat trailers taking up room.

I was wondering the same thing because I don't leave my boat on the water each night.

Hey Todd! Yes, sir, same old... CL Cottages parking situation probably isn't great during summer weekends. They make you unhook the boat at night and it's a bit tight with rental and guest trailers. I've only stayed there in the off season so it hasn't been a problem. I hook up in the morning, grab a coffee down the road, and launch at Redbud. I definitely miss Ferndale/CL Vista. I tried calling them in the fall with no answer, but when I fished over there I saw people. Maybe it's longer term residents?

Thanks. I had a feeling parking would be tight. I'm all about having space. Clear Lake Vista checked most of the boxes, especially when it had the restaurant open.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 8:48 am Hey Todd! Yes, sir, same old... The Clear Lake Cottages are just as expensive as the Konocti Harbor resort when they owner makes to pay for a slip that you tell him you won't use. I think I made a good choice by choosing the extra space at Konocti Harbor. The basic room is plenty spacious and about $215 with the AAA discount. The rooms are newly remodeled and clean at Konocti Harbor Resort and you don't have to ever unhook your boat or navigate tight territory. It was so cool to have the ramp, docks, and parking lot to myself during the week with only a few others on the weekend. Lots of solid fish in the 5's and 6's.

I never got an answer on the phone for CL Vista either. I saw a guy fishing on the docks there and asked him what the situation is. He said that he was a long term renter, like you thought. The parking lot had quite a few cars. The boat slips were gone, but they one main dock is still there. The big for sale sign is still up. I imagine that they do better overall with the long term renters.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Fri May 02, 2025 8:48 am Hey Todd! Yes, sir, same old... I hope Konocti makes it. I was up there 2 weeks ago and the place was empty when I fished around it Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. Full lake and no fires - should be selling those rooms while the times are good.

There wasn't a ton of guys on the water last week. The resort needs to redo the grounds. I hope that it makes it too, but they are doing too little to the property to draw big crowds. As nice as my room was, the rest of the property can't be ignored. The pool and the restaurant did have quite a few people on the weekends, but they need a lot more to make it. I burned less fuel than ever over the week because it is so central to many areas that I fish. The views of the lake from the second story of the Cloud building are also nice. I think that they have only redone two of the many buildings that they have.Captain Morgan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 17, 2025 1:13 pm I hope Konocti makes it. They have to do something to compete with the casino. Casino rooms are decent, and cheaper. Lots of boat slips out of the wind and safe to leave boat without having to remove electronics. Close to town with tackle shops, gas and food. Worth the extra 15 minutes of driving.

Yes, the casino is a good deal. My only issue is that I burn a lot more gas and put a lot more wear and tear on the boat when staying at the casino because I usually fish more south. The RV area is good there too. As much as we like to think bass fisherman are important, there isn't enough of us to keep several places in business.TritonBrent wrote: ↑Thu Jun 19, 2025 6:02 pm They have to do something to compete with the casino.
