Knot strength when your tossing around structure rock, wood, brush'trees the knot is reseased back into the eyelet of the jig. I like them for winter time fishing a good standup jig

I've tie flies and jigs for years but I'd love to see how you do those puffball jigs. Maybe you need to do a video...

There was a video on the subject of tying a puffball jig by a guy name smalljaws years ago on you tube
I went and watch it it was 15 mins long and it was very painfull to watch he tried his best but he butchered that jig up and it looks nothing like what or how there suppose to be tied. Both in round rubber/silicone or just silicone skirt material. I've been tying them for 40 years now there very easy to tie. I've always been a hands on in person when it comes to tying jigs we don't have sporting goods store like Alcorn's sporting goods Valley Rod & Gun fisherman's warehouse that you can do seminar at anymore since they all closed there doors. We also don't don't have boat and RV and tackle show in the central valley here any more I did a few years ago in Bakersfield and fresno. I thought about getting a booth show they have a Sacramento every year but never really look into it. Do the even do seminar at fisherman warehouse Sacramento anymore.
I enjoyed doing a couple one in Bakersfield and in fresno I meet a lot of people and had nice crowds that sat and watched and ask questions.

I got talked into it i'm going to start doing videos on tying jigs and other baits I tie. I've been getting a few request from some back east pros that are wanting to fish my puffball jig and Lions collar jigs and local anglers here that want to learn how to tie some of my pattern skirted jigs.

It should be and adventure because I've never attempted to tie jigs doing a video but in front of a lot of people yes that's easy. A video I'm still up in the air about that I'm sure I'll do fine hell I might even talk about golden mussels while I'm tying and explaining each step in the tying process who knows.

Yes Coats & Clark uplohstery thread is very strong it won't cut through the silicone skirt tabs when you tighten down on the collar of the jig I use three half hitch knots to lock the skirts in place they don't slip or rotate. All without using GLUE on the thread
I also use other brands of heavier uplohtery thread for my chatterbaits spinnerbaits and buzzbaits when I'm tying using my umbrella skirt flare pattern.

Set up a booth at the 2026 internation sportmen show in Jan 15 - 18 2026 I miss the days of Tackle and Boat and RV show we had in the central valley and Bakersfield. I tied a lot of jigs at those shows.
Good crowds watching.
