Excitement availed at the POW Wow, as the group discussed the possibilities. With an early launch time (1330) I arrived at 09:45 only to find I'm boat 7
Stickbait shows up, we load the boat and launch. Short drive to our first spot. The plopper bite was on. We had a limit in about 30 minutes. Yeah it's 10 lbs but its a limit. That gives us about 5 1/2 hours to upgrade. Fishing a small weedy flat Strick bait says " Uh Oh1 somebodys got a big fire going on. I turn to see billowing black smoke rising up in the air like an atomic explosion. It appeared as though one of the river establishments were on fire.(see photo below) However it was just a boat. I remember seeing it look abandoned during the Mike Vaughn classic, It was beached on the rocky bank. Stolen? Insurance? who knows, but now its a melted mess.
So long drive to next spot. Nothing but small fish. Under 2 lbs. We saw Richard and Gerry,(finished in the money) Christian and his partner (finished in the money) Angelo and his partner (finished first). So its not to say we weren't in productive areas, we just didn't figure out what the bigger girls wanted. Heck, even the raffle didn't go our way. Caleb picked numbers which happened to coincide with everyone in the Pow Wow except me and Stickbait. Oh well, Stick is off chasing Albacore and I'm sanding decks. Gotta love honey dos .
