In the last 10 years, Clear Lake fish die offs have happened between July - September with the most reported fish deaths in August 2017. "Unprecedented die off" and "dead fish islands" were reported, with low dissolved oxygen, die off of cyanobacteria blooms and high lake water temperatures being seen as the cause.
