Lake Tulloch is still closed? I thought it was open with a inspection like Melone's does but I guess i'm wrong. If they haven't opened it up by now then they probably never will. Larry Bird with OID and/or A-holes with SJID probably have a home or know people that own homes on Tulloch and they like it with no boat traffic. They have their own private lake now. It's going to take a lawsuit to get back on that lake.

You might catch 10" smallies i like catching 2 1/2 to 3 lb smallies or bigger i have no problem catching them.
I also have family that live on the lake they enjoy not having no outside boating on the lake.
Kayak fishing has been good.

Of course they don't like the boat traffic. That lake was the most popular lake around before it closed but what do yo do? I guess they steal it. Tax dollars built that lake and now the home owners want it as their own private lake. Same ol sheet. The wealthy get their way.

I target the smallies from mid dec to mid march use bucktail/silicine or bucktail round rubber and pork trailers i know there big LMB in there i dont fish for them the smallies are what im after. I have no problem put them in the boat during this time of year in freezing cold or rain or or just plain overcast they all three work. My cousin built a hugh home right on tbe lake 5 years ago so i have no problem getting to go fishing ive fished that lake since the late 70s and have caught some really nice smallies on many trips I won 3 local bass club tournaments on the lake back in the late 70s and early 80s before i started just going fishing for fun. Yes its changed alot but times do change. And yes the people that live there should have first choice to the lake. Follow the boating rules you can go fishing its simple.

From Jamestown Launch: Our boat launch is closed due to an invasive mussel that was found in the Delta. This means no boats or jet skis will be allowed to launch at our facilities. Our Campground remains open, and you can still kayak, paddle board, and swim.​ We are actively working with Tri-Dam on a solution and anticipate re-opening the launch ramp to the public in 2026.

That's sick. Can the home owners with boats on their docks use them? Now the fish are busting shad and you can catch large numbers of blacks and smallmouth throwing at the boils. So much fun. I doubt there is a mussel problem.

Original rules were no boat launching. Then they made an exception for homeowners. A couple weeks after it opens back up, inspectors will intercept a golden mussel infested patio boat trying to launch.

Are you High? Home owners purchased the land around a public lake. They don't own the lake.

Yep, they're going to find something to strictly limit that lake or keep it closed for as long as they can. I can see $100 wash downs just to get on the lake.

So if they closed Eastman, Hensley , and millerton and told you to go pound sand you would be all hunky dory with it lol ? Tax payers paid to build the damn dam and now we can’t use it? The only reason the homeowners get to use it is because they have money and threatened the irrigation districts with a lawsuit.

Eastman was shut down for several year for the hydrilla problem i didnt bitch then if they shut them down tomorrow they get shut down no big deal.
Oh as long as the delta stays open to boating your favorites lakes will stay closed or remain restricted
Not much you can do about it. There really nobody you can complain to nobody going to listen.

What is so important about Tulloch Lake? Who cares about you fishing it in the 70"s and 80's. I lived at S Shore for 3 years, fished 2-3 times a week there. Home owners don't own the water. Your Cousin does not own the water just because he has a home there. We as tax payers have a public right to fish there. That water is from New Melones, Its not Pine Mountain Lake. Tulloch is public water, Pine Mountain is Private. Were do you come up with this garbage?

What's so special about that lake? It's the only lake around that was a mix between a lake like New Melones and the CA Delta. It's small so you could fish most of it in a days time. You can fish open water, docks, wood and weed's. It's close by and convenient.
I've spent more time on that lake then you ever have and it shows when you think smallmouth fishing is so great out there. I know, you have a special hand tied bucktail jig that you use to slay the smallies out there. . You're probably the reason why smallmouth fishing sucks since you have caught everyone of them.

Your right i have 4 lakes i can fish out of a boat here in the central valley anytime i want with no restrictions on any of the lakes and the fishing is good. They dump the water out of all of them but hasnt stop the fish from biting. Good luck with your tulloch thingy hope the home owners will let you get back on the water and fish someday.

You said it would be business as usual on the lakes by spring time when they first shut down. Now we have a long list of lakes that require a quarantine and tag system with restricted launching hours. We have another list of lakes that have no boating season at all .
You still insist everything is just fine. I could think of a few words to describe you but won’t go there.

I just a really good report from eastman bass in the bushes on 3/8oz jigs greenpumpkin/black green crystal trailer 4" twin tail watermelon/red&black flake in 8 to 15 feet of water lakes at 10% 14,000 acre ft. Min pool no water release.
JV it fine with are central ca lakes so far launch and go fishing no problem.

Millerton Pine Flat Eastman & Hensley lakes very low but all fishable. Eastman & Hensley Pine flat all open 24 hours no restrictions

Yeah Jigs you're fortunate they haven't messed with your lakes but you're kinda in the middle of no mans land. Fed lakes that CA doesn't control as well as no large cities and way less politics then what we have up here. Evidently, who ever controls you're water must have 100% control and no worries.
You're biggest worry should be is who is stealing all your water and turning you're lakes into pot holes. But most likely there is nothing you can do and evidently you have gotten over it. Probably because in a drawn down lake fishing can be a lot easier as long as you can get on the water.

Millerton is a state lake hensley and eastman pine flat are army corp. Eastman was down for several years for hydrilla i tried to spear head a group of anglers and water board member to keep it shut down until they had a plan for reopen. Will it didnt go well they open the lake in certian areas it was wall to wall foot traffic opening day at one count there as many as 2500 to 3000 people it lasted about two months dfg didnt help by using eastman to transport bass to souther ca. Florida strain largemouth were in big demand at the time. All good now at eastman water down to 10% but still fishing is really good hensley is also kicking out some nice bass.

JL im hoping mid oct wemight get back on the water first place im going well be eastman my wife and i cant wait. Its should be good. I might have one more surgery on my thyroid it may need to be removed 50/50 cancer doctors are not sure yet what there plan are going to be its contained so there not to concerned or in a hurry to remove it.

Alot of you take this golden mussel issue way to personal you blame the management of these lake for doing what there told by upper management there hand are pretty much tied with the Delta being open and the source of the problem im sorry you guy can't go fishing in some of your lake up north anytime you want. I know I tuff but there going to have a plan to combat the mussel problem it not going to happen over night. When the Hydrilla was found by jimmy houston & chris abshire while they were fishing up in the rive arm at eastman. The lake was colsed a few day later and no bkating or foot traffic stop. I took them several months to get a plan together to start to start getting reid of the high hydilla it took several year and alot of hard woork to strip the bank and contain the weed to the river arm. The golden mussel is going to go through somewhat the same prossuce to reid the mussels and it needs to start at the delta or port of stockon that is the source of the problem. I would like to see how going to spear head this project thats fourth coming. Things are not going to change over night. Durning the time down on Eastman with no activey for several alot of angler used Hensley Millerton Pineflat Mcclure Don pedro Meolnes and Tulloch to fish while Eastman was down sure some miss the big bass at eastman but anglers simpily use Don pedro for there big fish while eastman was down.
After the lake reopen to foot traffic for a few months bass were caugth big numbers day after day for several months before they started allow boating back on the lake. The DFG had the share of shocking bass and moving the to southern ca lake. I work some on some of the shock boat after everything calm down
And fish werent bwing moved. It took the lake several more years to rebound. That when they went to a one fish limit for several .kre your to bring bigger fish back into the picture the trophy lake project didnt really work nkw its been removed once again now it back to a 12" limit once again.
Let's hope they can move to figure out how the can control the current problem with the golden mussels and the can fit the problem for all the lake in northern ca so anglers and veryyday boater can enjoy the northern ca waterways.

Many of the people in power would prefer we are not boating at all.
