Wind power

Post by monte300 »

It boggles my mind how against wind power Trump is. Cheap and clean energy source would lessen the cost of our electricity. Makes too much sense, I guess? Instead we get rump breaking wind on our economy

Probably no way to line his own pockets with wind power

Because it not worth a ****. It’s the least efficient and effective source of power. Bad for the environment
It sounds good to libtards until they learn
Wind doesn’t blow on demand
Power output can drop suddenly, even on windy days
Requires backup generation (natural gas, coal, nuclear, or imports)
Grid stability problems
Large wind penetration can cause:
Frequency instability
Voltage regulation issues
Needs expensive grid upgrades and fast-responding backup plant
Backup power plants must still be built and maintained
Transmission lines often needed to reach remote windy areas
Grid-scale storage (batteries) is very expensive and limited in duration
Subsidy dependence
Many wind projects rely heavily on:l
Federal tax credits
State mandates
Without subsidies, some projects aren’t economically viable
Wildlife harm
Birds are killed by turbine blades
Especially impacts:
Raptors
Migratory species

Large land footprint
Wind farms require vast areas for meaningful output
Land often becomes fragmented by:
Roads
Concrete pads
Power lines

Materials & mining
Turbines require
Massive amounts of steel and concrete
Rare earth elements (often mined overseas under poor environmental standards
Noise & infrasound
Constant low-frequency noise can:
Disturb sleep
Cause stress for nearby residents

Visual impact
Tall turbines permanently alter landscapes
Often opposed in scenic or rural areas

Property values
Homes near wind farms can lose value
Harder to sell in some cases
Gearboxes and blades suffer high mechanical stress
Offshore turbines are especially costly to maintain

Limited lifespan
Typical service life: 20–25 years
Decommissioning and blade disposal are growing problems
Blades are difficult to recycle and often end up in landfill
Produces much less power per acre than
Nuclear
Natural gas
Requires many turbines to match output of a single conventional plant

Capacity factor
Even in good locations, turbines often average 25–40%
Capacity

When did any republican politician ever give two shits about wildlife or the environment for that matter? Magat cult member, you defend 100% everything chump, including the kernels of corn in his turds  at least Jiggin occasionally takes offense with chumps wonky words and actions.

Instead of saying I defend everything why can’t you show me how wind power is superior? Because you know it’s crappy. I have known it’s about as reliable as solar and less efficient for decades. Instead of just believing that it’s all fairy tale great like the democrats convinced you I actually looked into it. My friends are wind power mechanics. It’s a living but even they say it’s a joke
One day reality will hit you in the face
