From a tactical standpoint, having quality crude oil from Venezuela will have China take pause. It helps level the playing field some but the US is very venerable in so many areas. 3-4 critical strikes to our oil processing facilities and it would decimate the US economy. But then again, what happened to the drill baby drill nonsense?

I’m not sure I would call thick Venezuelan crude quality its best for diesel and asphalt. Certainly not the quality of west Texas crude
