Golden muscles found in Friant canal

At KMPH.com . Friant canal has Golden muscles down to Bakersfield. Here comes the muscle stamp tax increase and inaction by the state. They drain the canal every year for maintenance. Go scrap the stuff off .

FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (FOX26) — Officials are sounding the alarm over an invasive species threatening one of California’s key water systems.

Golden mussels, first detected in the Friant-Kern Canal two months ago, are rapidly multiplying and could disrupt water delivery to farms and communities in the southern San Joaquin Valley.

The Friant Water Authority held a board meeting Thursday to address the infestation and outline next steps.

The board voted to hire a consultant to develop a comprehensive control plan, though any treatment would require permits and could take several months.

No surprise........
As expected, the canals, Aqueducts, and pipes delivering water South will be invested with Golden Mussels.
Lakes not using boat contamination processes are next as it's impossible to detect the smaller invasive mussels by visual inspection.

Clear Lake will eventually see every Rock Pile, Piling, dock and launch ramp invested with these mussels.
I know.............they're probably there so forget about trying...

It's a matter of time and Clearlake county will regret not taking the pain in the *** hassles of contamination requirements.
