Tail Spins working at Lake Perris

Post by MCSPIN »

Talked to a Friend of mine (Ron Gayton) he went to Lake Perris last saturday and caught 17 keepers up to 4lbs on the Tail Spin. Best 5 went 15 lbs. Just thought the guys fishing perris would like to know.

Ronnie's in town? Next you'll be telling me he was out on Perris with Joel. Or did he and Brad reunite Team Bubba.

Hey Gary, if you ever wanna set up a McSpin tournament you know who to call...that would be the guy who named your bait but doesn't get royalties...HAR!

Gary, with your Tail Spins what kind's of set-ups do you recommend for them{rod action $ line size}. And the different way's to fish them other than strait up and down.
I'm going fishing this coming Monday and want to practice with them then.

..........Thanks KickerKen

Kickerken,
I use a G-Loomis 783 with 12 lb big Game. I throw it out, count it down and then keep lifting it off the bottom setting it back down. If there is grass, I throw it just in front of the grass and then use a steady retrieve back. Don't set the hook hard. Let the rod load up and then use a steady retrieve back. If you horse the fish in you will pull the treble hooks out. Hope this helps.
