Great Job CJ
Chris,
I just wanted to let you know that the Piru Night Series was a blast. All the events were organized, fair and a ton of fun even though the bite was tough at times. As anglers we forget sometimes how much work it is to run a circuit and tend to focus on what goes wrong instead of what goes well. With how these events went, and with John Barron's always professional approach I am sure next years productions will be top notch. Please thank your wife for putting up with all of us as well as the sponsors that helped make this happen.

Ditto on the Great Job!
What a great series it was. It was great to see a lot of old friends and to meet a bunch of new ones. It is just unfortunate that there were several conflicts with other night tournaments; otherwise the participation would have been considerably better. Still, a 20+ team average ain't all that bad and the payback was excellent, in spite of the numbers.
Thanks to all of the great sponsors of the Piru Night Tournament Series and an extra special thanks to AJ (Angie Johnson) for all of her hard work and tolerance with all of us.
Although things didn't work out as Smitty and I had hoped (we each broke off a good one last night that probably would have iced the AOY deal for us), we had a blast and are already looking forward to next year's JB/CJ Piru Night Tournament Series.
Thanks again Chris.

Should be fun to see you and Smitty at Havasu. Man Ron we will be seeing a lot of each other in the month of October. Havasu then Clear Lake. Should be a lot of fun. May the best man win at least once. I don't care if it is Havasu or Clear Lake I hope we each win 1 of them. Good luck and see you on the water.

beat man?
I'm not even going to push that any further

I'll make you a deal Ray...
...You can have Havasu if I can have Clear Lake. How's that?
As I have mentioned before, the only way that I would go to the Havasu championship would be if jb ran it. And since that ain't going to happen, I ain't going. Besides, it conflicts with my pre-fishing for the Federation State Classic. My partner and I agreed well before the Piru Night Series began that, even if we qualified, we were not going.
The only reason that I fished the Piru Night Series is because it was jb (you remember, the guy who MADE NBW) and CJ ("Everybody Loves CJ") who took out the permits and put the series together. There are a couple of other reasons, too, such as: I like fishing Piru, I really like fishing Piru at night, and I really, really like fishing Piru at night with Smitty.
Good Luck at Havasu Ray. As Scott pointed out, you can be the "beat man" there! (Har Har!).
See you at Clear Lake!

I fixed it. It now says best man.
Darn you and Smitty are not going. You both are going to miss out on the Golden Horseshoe. MMMMMMMM SO GOOOOOD
I will see you at Clear Lake though. I will give you the win if I can have second up there. I will also take the win at Havasu.

Hey CJ,
It was good to meet you, wife and daughter and to see JB again, he's such a cool cat behind those glasses. My partner would also like to thank you for the much needed hot dogs, those hit the spot. We both look foward to seeing you next year.
Lance
P.S. Nice touch on the live well additives

Thanks Guys!!!
We had a great time running these events. I too got to see some old friends and meet some new ones. It is this part of tournaments I like the best, and now my wife and kids know what I'm talking about when I tell them how much I enjoy tournaments. Now they want to fish tournaments too. Especially my wife after seeing how much money First Place has paid in these events......
Re: Thanks Guys!!!
You saying "wife and kids" still just seems all wrong...lol.
Seems like it was just a couple of years ago that your room had that hitching post for the frequent train of swamp donkeys that wore a path through my house to your room...lol.
Call me, I'll take ya shootin'.

Dude, that's not cool to call Matt Burghardt and Martin Wall "Swamp Donkeys."

Don't make me announce why your pigeons only coo at night...
