I do not believe that 3 boats were ever promised this year. I remember during last years TOC Mark specifically talked about some of the things going on with his then sole boat sponsorship Bass Cat.
When many people asked about 2006, he said that they are working on maintaining the same level of payout for the team TOC, however there may be a chance that for 2006 he would be giving away 2 boats and guarantee 10K for 3rd.
Regardless, where can you fish in any Team TOC out here and get a boat for 1st, 2nd, and half a boat for 3rd? Unfortunately I have finished 2nd in more than my share of TOC's and the most I have ever received for 2nd is about 5K. In Anglers Choice you will most likely receive that kind of money for 4th.
Hey Lippy, No last minute changes at all. Things change and as Ken stated we went to a 2 Boat format with the sponsor change.
This new 2006 format is alot better allowing us to pay back to a wider audience with down to 10th place guranteed cash. Before you begin bashing or throwing out incorrect information, do some research or call me at my office, I am always available.
It's still the only team TOC out there where you can fish for multiple boats. Anyone paying attention to the tournament world would know that the entire concept of fishing for boats is a constantly changing deal. Heck some of our long established pro/am tournaments no longer have boats going out to first place anymore. It's just the nature of the industry, an ever changing thing.
When you boil it down the boat manufacturers have shifted the programs around for most of the tournament orgs. The opportunities to fish for boats have dwindled a bit to be sure. US Anglers Choice still gives you the chance to fish for more then one boat and that's as rare a deal as your going to find and coupled with a payback going down at least ten spots I'd say you guys are getting a great deal.
It was not a bashing,From what i heard this is the best circuit to fish.Now it sounds like to me wires got crossed somewhere along the lines.IT WAS NOT A BASHING,I know alot of other things i can bash on in my own opion,But that is just it my own opion.So i keep them to myself.Sorry if it sounded like a bashing and if i mislead something threw the typing.But from what i was told by 4 different teams that there was 3 boats,Let me know what it is and i will let them know.
My guess is, the teams you talked to fished the last few years and were thinking it would be the same... the new format is actually better... The boats are fully loaded and cash to 10th place. Previously, there were 3 boats and nothing else for 4th - 10th place... Now everyone in the top 10 is guaranteed something...
Of course there were always the options to help the payback down past third.. but, now you can just show up and fish with no options and know if you place in the top 10 you'll get paid something.

1st place Alpha 199 (2007 Model boat, I own one and love it!)
2nd place LE 195 (19 '5" boat with all the fixins')
I also heard from Jamie at Legend and the boats are gorgeous... I think some of you remember the Green and Gold one last year... although, the McAbee's found a buyer who loved its colors, I think you'll find the boats this year will be quite a bit easier to sell or better yet, better looking to fish from!!
