(sorry about length to follow)
The delta master Steve Sapp won it with just over 20#. He beat second by almost four pounds, with a 6.5# kicker. A pleasant surprise was when he came up for the award and spent a good five - ten minutes talking about how he fished and what he fished with. It was jigs, of course. It was really quiet as everybody listened to what was more than the usual sponsor thank you speech.

The bite was off for everyone (even Steve!). A recent cold spell, with clear blue skies and cool wind in the AM put the fish in an odd mood. Mentioned were jigs, cranks, traps and flipping plastics. the usual.

Second was 16.66 - i don't remember who. I remember the weight because we got beat BY ONE ONE HUNDRETH of a pound! Dang!

Big Props and thanks to Greg Kiefer - my pro - who knew what he was doing and put us on fish. I was happy to be able to contribute to the cause with a coupla fish. ;-)

That Gambler of his is a fast fast fast boat. And he's a great driver to boot. Did I mention his boat is really fast? It's really fast.

Thanks to Korny, who gave us the usual smooth, well run tourney and great concept. I'll be back next year! It's the best circuit for us us working amateur stiffs with not a lot of time - and let's us fish with some really good sticks. My first time fishing a tourney out of Russo's - now I know first hand why the staff is the best at holding tourneys.

A huge thanks to Bob Santora. Bob - do you shop at Waltons, the Hook, or Fishermans' warehouse? Lemme know. You have a gift certificate coming your way.
C ya all at the TOC.

And yes his boat is fast. I'd wish he'd let me drive it one time! :D

Glad to here you had a good time with him.
