no jack im talking about the whole front end. the trolling motor is tight but the top piece that the trolling motor sitts on. its loose right at the rub rail. if i pick up on the trolling motor. it seperates right at the rub rail. thanks

I have had problems with my trolling motor and taken it over to the Hook and Gene has fixed me up real fast. I don't know if you are near oakley but it would be worth the trip. He also has every part imaginable on site.

That is held by rivets through the rub rail.
I suggest taking the rope our center piece out of your rub rail andre riveting or screwing the top cap back through the rub rail between the existing holes that are now broken.
Use stainless steel screws or aluminum rivets to secure. make sure you apply new silicone around te seam at the bottom after you secure and you should be fine.
My first bass boat was a 1987 Skeeter Starfire that eveloped the same problem. I fixed it exactly the same way, ran it for four more years after and never had another problem after that.
