What is Your !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Favorite fishing line for throwing rattle traps our crankbaits. For stripers and largemouthbass and why.I have always thrown 15 lb trilene big game its at wall mart and cheap .Although I have been taking a freind out that does not no how to throw bait casting reels good so he throws a spining rod we always fish for stripers and I have noticed that he s 10 lb test line on slow down fishing time comes threw better but he has been broke of twice one to the boat that was over 20 lbs .So this is why I ask is there something maybe thinner than the line I am throwing but stronger I would love to hear from some of you guys . Thankyou
Re: What is Your !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
try going to flourocarbon line. Its thinner then mono and ALOT clearer then mono. Not to mention it has alot less stretch wich will make for a better hook up! Try useing the flouro from anywhere from 15-20lb test and you should be fine!

Cabelas Proline Fluorocarbon is very good for a good price. $24.99 gets you 750 yards of 15#, 675 yards of 17# or 600 yards of 20#. It is a little stiff so I don't know how it will be on spinning gear but, for the price, it is worth a shot.
Re: What is Your !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The stuff I use is Berkley Suffix. Im not even sure if thats true flouro but its got little stretch its extremely limp and casts really well and works good on spinning gear. You can get it over at walmart. Im not sure how much it costs bit its pretty good stuff! Try and see if you like it!

Hey Rydood!
Try either the Seaguar or Transition in 20# Fluoro! I used both all last year on my traps and Jerkbaits fer stripers. Works really well on them custom Lamiglass glass rods that DJ builds fer us local rats that fish big cranks and chase stripers!
Re: Hey Rydood!
Thanks cooch you guys are great on this web site .Every time I post something important to my fishing needs you guys come threw like champs Fish on
Re: Hey Rydood!
Rydaddy if you have the bucks to use all the high dollar lines then so be it but if your not sponsored by somebody or are just an ol poorboy like me go on eBay and Get you some Cajun Red Lightning line! It is inexpensive, strong line. I personally use it ALL the time for my cranks, trap type baits (LV's),topwater,Swimabits, etc. Just my .02-I mean these expensive lines might be awesome but if your like me they are outta your reach price wise.I can get a 1/4lb spool of Cajum for like $3 so I cant justify spending 15-20 on a reel fill spool. To land a 20 pound striper on ten would be a feat. I have done it, but the odds are stacked against you. I like 15 pound Big Game, and if targeting stripers its twenty.
Twenty pound Big Game with Rattletraps is easy, you just bump the bait up to 3/4 oz. and it fishes just fine baitcasting. If your friend is a dedicated spinning rod dude, consider one of those weird extruded things like Fusion. Much easier to handle on a spinning rod than braid, or a high tech flourocarbon on a spinning reel.
It might be a good time, to teach your fishing pal how to cast a baitcaster. You just get so many more lines to choose from, when stripering. And learning new stuff is half the fun in the fishing. He might become a baitcaster maniac. Spinning rods are great for certain things, and the same can be said for baitcasting. See if you can bring him over to the "Dark Side".

Simple answer -- Izorline for everything
Izorline has the best, least expensive line on the market. Use it for everything you won't be sorry!
The Flourocarbon is as good as Sunline only cheaper.
The Monofilament (XXX and Platinum) costs next to nothing and is outstanding.
The Braid is awesome and it doesn't turn white after a couple uses.. They die it strand by strand before weaving it.
Sure people will jump in with all types of brands from Maxima and P-Line to whatever... You'll have to try them all for yourself. However, once you are done monkeying around with all the different brands, you'll return to one of the least expensive ones Izorline and you'll be happy you did... and probably willing to pay more for it as well!
