UFC Coming to Arco

Post by krpierce »

Matt Hughes vs. George St. Pierre and Sylvia vs. Monson. November 18. Arco Arena, Sacramento. Should be some good fights. Pretty quick fight for Hughes (I think) being he just fought.

I'm looking forward to this one.......

Alot of guys say that St. Pierre is going to challenge Hughes....I think Hughes is going to go right through him.

First round stoppage is what I'm thinking... Hughes wins.

Sylvia wins as well.

I can't wait...

Any Nutcases up for a roadtrip to attend this event?

I agree with Pete on a few things, Hughes will destroy St Pierre, and the Raiders are crap!

How the hell will Hughes rip through St. Pierre? He easily lost the first 2 rounds to BJ and then BJ did his trademark gas out in the 3'rd. Difference is, St. Pierre won't gas, has better stand up than Matt, and St. Pierre is more well-rounded. I'm not saying Hughes is going to lose, but I will guarantee you that it's going to be the biggest test for Hughes since BJ beat him last.

UFC 50 - The War of 04

Hughes submitted St Pierre 4:59 into first round (Armbar)

St Pierre needed that last take down to get past BJ at the end of Round 3 when they fought.

Regardless of the first 2 rounds, Hughes destroyed/humiliated Penn in round three.

I think you're right - it'll be a tough test. But ultimately I don't think Matt will have any problem getting by St Pierre.

I hope it goes late into at least round 3. I'd hate to shell out $400 to see another 1st round submission.

I might attend this one...

I'm picking Hughes to win this one. I dont think there's a fighter in his weight class that can beat him...
