Flappin Hawg official GYCB release info.....
I got this official release from GYCB to explain why the Flappin Hawg was discontinued. According to them the Flappin Hawg will be back!! Their were ALOT of rumors about a lawsuit and they made it very clear that their IS NO LAWSUIT!!!!
Here is the release.
“We have a production and manufacturing problem with the Flappin’ Hog and it is being corrected. Until it is corrected, and it could take a considerable amount of time, we have had to remove the item from our product line. We can’t sell something that we can’t make. We regret and apologize for any inconvenience this has put on our distributors, dealers and retail customers. We are looking forward to having the Flappin’ Hog back in production and available again as soon as possible.â€

I guess they could not keep up with the high requests! Seems like they should be able to make some, since they have been making them for Japan for the past 2-3 (?) years......

The ones in Japan are made here in Japan with no production problems....

Its simple, I would guess there is a problem with the mold used to make them. Too many blems, and production has stopped until a new one can be manufactured.
You can't just whip up an injection mold, especially with potential revisions overnight. It takes a little while. This is testament to GYBC quality control, you are going to have a very good bait not something less.
I am just guessing, not a staffer with the inside scoop.

Andy, Both Marc and myself are both on the GYCB team. Honestly beyond the quote above that is honestly all we all know about the Flappin Hawg. It does sound like a mold issue? From talking with several guys from the GYCB team in the past if a mold breaks or malfunctions you take a serious hit in production amounts. I can only imagine what the demand is like from a new item from GYCB. I was told that they can make only so many baits in 7 minutes (pouring/cooling,ejection included) with the amount of molds they have. I don't remember the number I was told but it was surprisingly nowhere near what I thought it would be (lower number).
Gee Marc I thought this would deserve a seperate post toward the top of the board with it's own title to make sure everyone saw it
~~ Go easy on this Gawgia boy

Vally Rod & Gun in Clovis has about 120 bags left, but they are going fast.
