Do you guys have to trash absolutely every post that comes in, especially those most recent posts from the Misty Girls? Sometimes it just reaches a point where it starts to become more childish then comical.

Tony, you took it all wrong.

First, this site is about fun and knuckleheadedness.

Second, bikini girls with great personalities lend themselfs to a loose attmosphere.

Third, We are not trashing; we kid because we care.

Fourth, we could just ignore them and make the Misty Girls irrelevent ruining Seig's advertising.

So to sum it up Tony.....Don't worry, be happy!

PS.. If there was more action on the forum, we wouldn't need to do this. This forum has been the dead zone lately. There was over 3 hours the other day with out a post. I know guys have jobs and stuff, but the history of this site is probably 1 post per 20 min. I think the birth of the joke, political, and sports forums is the cause.

....and fifth, "big hunk of the year" is not quite a fishing topic, nor a serious topic, thus the jest :D

Alright then Dave, I give up. There is no sense in trying to talk to you guys anymore about anything. Bones feels he can pretty much do whatever he wants even if there are others who find it offensive and if we say something about to try to get things posting as normal we pretty much get told about 'the dead zone' which is amazing to me as we are certainly still obtaining a nice chunk of traffic through out the website.

Honestly, I'll just back way off from now on and let the place turn into whatever it is the masses want it to be. It's a bit disappointing that the place isn't really a forum I'd feel comfortable to let my kids learn about bass fishing from anymore. Way to many photos that don't need to be here and 'WTF' references and the like and if the moderators try to clean it up we get bashed around pretty good. The other forum has gone off the hook with 'your mama' jokes and in all honesty it pretty much degrades what the forums are about.

In short, this stuff has pretty much turned me into a lurker, sadly on my own forums.

We've tried to build a place where folks can come to a share info, ask questions and have some good natured fun. We've always wanted to keep the place open and available to kids as well, as we see them as the future of our sport. Lately some threads just get taken over by a potty mouthed, locker room mentality that I'm not at all comfortable with and yes, Mike is right, you can't come in anymore and just make an observation without spending the rest of the day defending yourself or your position.

I'll take a fair share of the blame for some of it also, lord knows I've had a lot of fun at the expense of BDO and what not. But it was certainly good natured ribbing.

Maybe I've lost my objectivity and perspective along the way. Maybe I'm just tired, worn out and rundown. Beats me. It's possible that my skin has worn thin. I've had folks insinuate litigation over threads in this forum and others that ask me to delete stuff on an all to frequent basis. It's taken some of the fun out of it for me for sure.

I'm not really a negative person, I just call it like I see it. Like the "D1ck inside her" Crap. That has no place on a fishing fourm.

I have tried to be more positive with my post's. Look and the last few months of my activity. Oh, trust me! There have been times when I have written out responces to some of your guy's antics, but just deleted it to avoid confrontation. I'm trying to resurrect my public perception that I tore down when I started on this site!

I will not let you bait me into damaging it further.

Pease out, Mike

wow, stony are you being serious. i mean you have cracked alot of jokes on people on this forum too. i come to this site to read about fishing, but i like all the jokes also. i thought what bones wrote was funny, and its part of the reason i come to this place . i'm not picking sides or anything like that at all. its your show, and i think you do a damn good job with it. i just would hate it if this place became all buisness, no play.

Tony, there is no need to be disapointed.

There is also no need to give up

I am a big supporter of "kid friendly" stuff but at the same time I also support adult time.

At the end of the day, this is your Forum. On the other hand, this forum exists because of the support of the users. Bones may be a goofball at times, but he has over 1100 contributions.

As for the forum going down hill Mike, that has been said before and it is still here today. What do you want out of the forum? Just fishing reports?? Well there is a page for that. It is a forum, an open place where ideas, thoughts, and open minds mix. If you have an oppinion and can't take the heat of someone who opposes your oppinion, you might not want to enter an internet forum and stay amoungst like friends.

Bottom like, if you don't like the way it's going, offer a solution, or leave. No body likes chicken little crying the sky is falling. That is not a personal dig on anyone, but just a metaphor about the current situation.

g-man,

No ones ever asked to have it all work and no play. There are however some things that just get pushed too far along the way and I've admitted at times its been me. I think a holiday wish post that gets turned into what that got turned into offended the poster and others as well and that kind of saddens me. I think the hunk of year post was turned into something we try not to do and that is tear others down. It's a matter of perspective and I guess I'm hearing that I've lost mine. I can accept it. I just wish the emails and phone calls that I get about some of this stuff was different then it is, it put me in position where I clearly don't know how to respond anymore.

Tony, answer me this:

Misty girls are mad we took it too far. If this had been someone else, we might not have done it. Question: Don't you think the Misty Girls invite this upon them selves with their actions? They have bubbly personalties, wear bikinis, take pictures leaning over in bikinis, and generally invite a loose attmosphere. Are we to treat these girls the same way we would treat another woman product rep who lets say dresses in a pant suit? My answer is no, what do you say?

Dave,

I don't have any answers. I don't think the girls do anything that promotes what you describe by any means. That is something probably better addressed by Sieg.

Mark,

Some say we have too many forums as it is, hahaha.

Bones,

I'm the stupid one on the block, I know that. I look myself in the mirror everyday and come to the conclusion that I must be one the weaker brains on the planet.

I'm going to try to dig out the boat from the pile that its currently buried under and wet a line and try to get my head back on straight. Obviously I need something like that about now. Hope everyone has a great weekend and if you're out fishing catch a big limit and if you're out shopping stay safe in those crowded malls. Talk to you all next week!

Maybe a vaccation is what you need.

I am sorry if the Misty Girls are misty over this. Try not to take it personally. You are public figures now, the public is open for scrutiney. Look to Gary Dobbyns as someone to follow (not too close though, whew!) By his actions he has catapulted himself in to the spot light and somewhat a household name; at least here. Guys poke fun at him all the time here; donut boats, rain dances, etc... Does Gary get upset and misty? No, Gary gets even. People respect Gary for that. I bet someone could even come on and say he sucks. He'll joke right back at you. Although from past stories, I bet he'll pop you one next tournament too, maybe a suggestion.....or not.

Anyway, I am on this site all the time (I might have to go on Dr. Phill for this addection) My observation is membership is up in the past 6 months and few people have quit. This site sees at least one guy a year who complains the site is not what it used to be and swear not to come back, or make some ridicouls post about how they are above the crowd and will never post again so good bye for ever..... They come back, usually under another name.

Tony, I know you developed the other forums because of demand, but I still believe that was a bad idea. One forum, an open arena for all to speak on their soap boxes (like that place in England). I still contend there is not that much traffic where if you spent 20 min per day on this site, you could not read all that has transpired. I check out the other forums, and the only regular posters are Sean Graff in the sports forum (good picks this year dude) and Marty in the political forum. Talk about the dead zone.... You have all the data broken down, but just from an observation, most of those "new" forums go days with out a post.

With all it's problems, this is a great site...one of the best ever. Keep up the good work and no matter what forum you create remember this, unless there are guns present people will speak theri minds and an open free exchange of ideas, feelings, and words is healthy and the only way to live...

As for Mike, he is right about posting positive stuff. I have no Friday night life, and the baby is sick so here I sit on the laptop while he sleeps. So I did a search of all posts by Mike (Tony, you really should have called me about that open moderator position) Anyway, after reading Mikes posts, he is square. I think your "Raidermike" posts might have been a different story, ha! Damn those records. Anyway, no one can say Mike has not been a positive contributer. He likes the Hook, fishes the Delta, lives in Oakley, needs a metal car port, and likes Russos. This is your life Mike... HA! I need one for sure

Let's apply my KISS Principle (keep it super simple).

First Dave....

If you spent as much time on YOUR business as you trying to justify this garbage....You'd be making alot of money.

Second Bones....

Mike VanWagner is not only one of Ranger's Top Dealers, but he's also an excellant tournament angler.

I love to have fun...but you seem to always want to push it over the edge and turn it into trash.

Bones, I can understand you...but Dave..I am let down.

No excuses.

you guys kill me,you all need to chill out and enjoy life a little bit more and not take yourselves so dam serious.

just turn on the news or better yet read the newspaper and that should put you in check real quick with whats really going on in the world, your petty b.s on here is getting old...grow up and get a life!

this fourm used to be cool ,now eveytime i get on it you guys are moaning about this and that .

maybe.. just maybe you should spend some of the time you spend on here with your wife or kids and quit acting like the fishing superstars your never gonna be!!...speaking of superstars maybe bassbones can show me how to throw a frog somtime that should be fun??

as for mike your alright in my book bud, at least you showup on gameday, and that bag of fish you and bobby dragged to the scales was way cool, even if did you smoke me and barrack by ton,i still love ya!!

and for tony dont let these jackoffs get to you.. your a good man and have a good thing here, this site still offers alot to the real fisherman out there looking for information and tips.. and thats always a good thing.

you just need to get rid of all the b.s on here, which i am sure that everyone is thinking that this post is just that, kinda funny how that works out dont you think!

well anyways, thats my story and im sticking to it.

see you on the river!!

I will follow this post up with a call this weekend.

...and BTW I sent the girls an e-mail as well to take topic off line

My question for you is three fold. First, are we not allowed to joke with them because they are girls? Second, are we not allowed to joke with them because the represent a sponsor? Third, how far is too far? We will discuss.

You know Seig (or maybe you don't) that I only joke because I thought that was the way it be. You had them prank call me once, I thought it funny to joke back; just thought it was the way it went.

Bottom line is to my own admission here, I find it difficult to distinguish when women in bikinis are business, when they are fun, and when they are other. To me the whole idea of having women in bikinis promote your product is to combine brains (found in men and women) with sex appeal. We all know sex sells, look around at some packaging. My problem is I am a man. The butter gums up the works sometimes. I sohuldn't have to appoligize for being a man unless I touch, speak vulgarly, or force my self upon.

Seig, I am sorry to dissapoint you. Like I said, I will follow up with a call.

i have big time respect for you and others alike who keep it real and follow their dreams such as you did and then make it happen.

anyways enough of the touchy feely crap, its cold down here on the river but the bite is decent..how about your pond?

Does anyone remember all those crazy posts with Dom?? I remember everyone was going to quit the site after that. Remember all the posts with fake names and first time users? Yep, the site was ready to fold after that. This situation is nothing compared to problems in the past here.

Bottom line learned from this is we just can't hassle the Misty Girls anymore. They are upset and our sense of hummor just doesn't match theirs. So, I will not reply to anymore Misty Girl Posts. I will reserve my "different" hummor for PMs with Bones, Ken and Rip. These days I need a laugh, not a bass.

This may sound ridiculous sTony, since this is your website, but I really like Bones' posts. He can be funny, and informative. If this forum was just about info, there wouldn't be anything on it, because most people think they have to be tight lipped about everything. People like Bones and Dave keep it light, and it reminds me that fishing is supposed to be fun, and about having fun with friends. You are probably working your *** off and got annoyed because these posts go in a different direction than what you initially intended. Every time I have asked a question on here, I have received great input, and I thank you for keeping the forum up, and EVERYONE on here who gives input. Including the ppl who joke around a bit- Keeps me smiling.

Jimmy on his first post said nothing "hurtful."

Bones...your first quote;
"I guess the term hunk is where I was lost.... I take Hunk to mean of nice build, fit, attractive... Basically me....

Seig and the girls must use the slang definition of Hunk as a chunk or big piece of...as in a Hunk of cheese.....

I dont care who you are thats funny right there......."

That's not funny...it can be hurtful.

Dave's...first quote;
" ...hunk of cheese.....BRILLIANT!"

I expect Dave to lead...not follow.

As for you Bones and anyone else who thinks your first post is funny and informative...I will disagree.

Your just an arrogant, negative and hurtful person who hides behind his computer.
Since I always try to come from the positive...stay on your threads and I stay on mine.
You can fool some of the people some of the time, but you can't fool them all of the time.
