Boat was stolen 12/1/06

Post by OldMikey »

Hi everyone, I wanted to see if I could get the community to help keep an eye out for my boat which was stolen yesterday 12/1/06 from an apartment parking structure in San Jose (Saratoga Ave near 280). Done the police report, filed claim with insurance... I posted this in the Northern board and someone suggested I do the same in the Southern (its possible its there now). I hope someone might have seen it or will spot it around. I remember reading a nice success thread on westernbass.com a few months back and hope I get as lucky.

I'll try to describe it best I can. Its a 2001 Champion 193 DCX (dual consoles) white hull, red accents, red topcap. The CF# is CF9121TP. Its got a Merc 200EFI with a 4 blade trophy. Sits on a white ezloader trailer with CA perm trailer 4DV1370. Almost new 82lb MG Tour with 3 blade machette. 2 Lowrance 332c's. Its got 2 pedastal seats. The passenger windshield (not pictured) has a chunk missing out of the corner where 1 fastener goes.

The pictures are from the seller I bought it from so the CF numbers aren't in the pictures (they are red with black outline now) CF9121TP, the front seat pole is silver not black, the trolling motor pictured is the old one (its now an almost new 82lb tour), it has 2 windshields (grey) on it now with a chunk missing from the passenger side. it has the Cooks GO-To tackle system (white plastic system used to hold jigs, blades, baits) on the passenger side rod locker. Carpet is matted down and sun has done its thing too.

Please, help me keep an eye out on it. I know the fishing community is a tight knit one, so, I'm keeping my hopes high that someone will see it somewhere. If you have any leads PLEASE contact me.

The last picture, notice the red bezels and gold flatboard ruler, tackle and other clothes are last owner's stuff.

Thanks y'all. PD and a ranger I talked to said they usually strip them and part them out (fish finders, trolling motor, rods, reels) $$$$$$. Ranger says the cases he hears people take em out of the area (Im in San Jose) like So. Cal, Nevada, Utah, etc. But, I'm still looking locally hoping it got dumped or something. I'll keep everyone updated.

This really sucks Mike, I feel for ya. Alot of guys from surrounding states log on to this site so you have a bunch of eyes. This boat shouldnt be to hard to spot.

Concord PD contacted me 1hr ago letting me know they found it (stripped of course). Now got to get a release from San Jose PD so I can get it. I'm going to wait until tomorrow so I can talk to my insurance claim handler to get it. Thanks y'all for the encouragement and keeping an eye out for it. I'll keep everyone updated if new news comes up.

Outboard Serial Number

PF3352 has helped and continues to help me with the case. I really appreciate this and I think everyone should recognize his generosity. I hope some day I can help another person from this board too. Updates to come as I see what the boat looks like tomorrow.

Good luck with your insurance. You'll have to tell us who your insurance carrier is and how it goes. There was recentluy a post here where guys were talking about boat insurance.

Glad you got it back. I hope they didn't damage it too badly stripping it. Fingers crossed.
