Question for NBW on off limits?

Post by DL »

How can you grant permission to an angler to test drive a boat on Castaic the friday before the tournament? I thought the off limits period was to keep people off the lake? Why didnt you instruct the angler to go to pyramid or piru? this angler also cashed a check and should have been disqualified!!!! I may start fishing NBW again, that way I can fish an org with NO RULES, anything goes.

We probably wont get a response on this, but what else is new?

Word to the wise to anyone fishing NBW: You are not competing on level ground, and are getting screwed by the people you are supposed to trust.

Can this info be verified? I would hate for this to be a bad rumor. Rick G.

If this rumor is true...

Post by Ron C »

...this is a very bad situation, as it gave a very distinct and unfair advantage to the angler. Even if he did not have a rod in the boat, it gave him the opportunity to meter the lake and locate bait and/or fish, which is a HUGE and extremely unfair advantage over the rest of the field, especially at this time of year.

Allowing a tournament contestant on the lake during the off-limits period for ANY reason (even to break in a new boat) is condoning cheating and the thought of it makes me ill.

If I had fished this tournament and this rumor were found to be true, I would be furious - especially if it cost me a check. You can bet that I sure as hell would never fish one of their tournaments again and I would be seeking a legal remedy (not that I ever would ever fish one of their tournaments anyway).

I´m sure that this reply will be considered as bashing to the tournament organization in question, but this situation (if true) is just plain wrong.

I assure you that John Barron NEVER would have allowed this (or the Havasu incident) to happen if it had been on his watch.

If you think So. Cal. is bad, wait until you live there for a year and you'll realize how "clickish" that little town is.

Good move though. It's much cheaper, cleaner, and you can fish anytime you want.

Kinda got the story from some witnesses today, and am waiting for a return call from the T/D's. Hope it is not so, that would be strike #2. Rick G.

While you're talking with them, you might ask them about the claims made by DVL_Local regarding the arrangements for handling the bass... I'd expect ANY tournament organization to make comprehensive arrangements to ensure the proper handling of the resources.

If this is true, I will NEVER fish another NBW tournament. Of course after the classic fiasco I probably wasn't ever going to anyway. That organization has really gone downhill. I don't care how good their payback is. It is way too "fishy".

Boy could they use JB back.
