A/C Teams
Re: A/C Teams
no mike, you and your partner have to fish 4 events together. Here is the rule off of their website. Here is a link to the page as well.
Ken
18.) PARTNERS: A member may fish the first event alone without a designated partner. Partners may be switched through the 2nd event fished. You may only switch your partner 1 time and and it must be prior to the 3rdevent of the season. Members accumulate points for the designate team when fishing alone providing the other team member does not participate in that event. Either member of a team is allowed to fish up to 3 events alone and representing the team, providing that the team fishes at least 4 tournaments together. After the 2nd event no substitution of partners will be allowed except in cases of partner death, catastrophic illness or military duty, or at the director's discretion.

I wonder why? If a guy wants to fish by himself, he would be at a disadvantage. Why would they not alow it?

I agree.. but, its a rule thats been around for a while (pre my fishing days).
I am guessing its for two reasons.
1. A single angler is more likely to cheat if he is by himself.
2. There are also safety concerns for an angler fishing by himself.
It is allowed for a few events for cases where one guy can't make it... but, not for an entire trail.
Besides that what fun would it be if you didn't have someone to talk smack on all day on the back of your boat?
Here are my top 3 reasons for having a partner -
1. To back my boat in the water
2. For me to blame all the lack of fish catching on him.
3. Someones got to put a limit in my boat!
ha ha ha
Catch a big one!

Re: A/C Teams
I believe it is because it's a "team" tournament. The different org's have chosen different methods of dealing with this issue. A. C. has chosen a Five fish limit, and allowed only one team member to fish alone up to three tourney's out of the year's events, this lets some teams stay in the points race for the year end. Other org's have simply made it a 7 fish [or higher] limit to reduce the instance of somebody fishing alone.
At least thats my take on it.
