I'm going to try my luck at Berryessa tomorrow. I've only fished it once since moving to California and that was this summer. I did pretty well up in the northern section in the grass. I understand that the south end is more ledges, rocks and deep water so I'll focus on that end.
I'm not asking for specific spots or baits but if someone would be so kind as to steer me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.
My backseat will also be open so if somebody has the day off I'd be happy to have you along.
Thanks in advance,
Mark Sanders
Tips for Berryessa tomorrow??
Re: Tips for Berryessa tomorrow??
If it were me, I would be using a Huddleston and a 1/2 brown jig.

A friend did well on a dropshot rig at 40 feet. Shad colored worm.

I heard plastics are the best bet for numbers about 40 feet deep. Look for bait on the graph. Swimbait for size.

MC,
Fished Berryessa last month and had a pretty good day dropshotting 4" and 6" Roboworms with red in them. I fished with oxblood and salt river craw all day - never had a reason to change up. They were relatively deep 40'-50'. Mostly smallies some LM but for some reason or another on that day they were queued to something in red. I really enjoy fishing Berryessa.
Good Luck!

Try dropshotting Arrons magic around Putah creek bridge pilings and throw a rootbeer green flake brown jig 1/4oz on the right side as you head towards the bridge. PS trailer color for the jig rootbeer peppergreen. Steve

Thanks for the info guys. I really appreciate it.
Re: Tips for Berryessa tomorrow??
Fished two weeks ago on back to back tournaments. Most of the good fish came from putah creek dartheading oxblood colored worms or dropshoting prism shad colors. I did find some good fish in the narrows where there was riprap with deep water really close to the bank, 10 feet from the bank and you are in 30 feet of water, fish with bait in 60 feet of water same techniques as above.
