What did you get for Christmas

Post by Marty »

My Wife got me a Trolling Motor for Christmas, well I got a Gift Certificate to the Hook for it (are they open on the 25th?). No more getting pushed around by the wind or trying to move against the currant (Tide) and feeling like I’m anchored. I can see myself moving across from one side to the other side without firing up the big motor.

From my Daughter, I got a Color GPS-Fishfinder 383c Humminbird. Now I don’t have to pull the map out each time I find a hot spot. The map was getting a little hard to read. Now it is just push this button and wham-o it is marked.

How about you guys, What did you get for Christmas – come on – let the little kid in you out!

Sounds like you guys made out pretty good. I got a set of waders(which I opened early and went out fly fishing for some salmon this morning because I couldn't wait :D I will be on Putah creek this afternoon hehehe ). I also got two fly tying kits, a rod rack. Some t-shirts my girlfriend doesn't think are too funny :D One says "I have a largemouth at home, sometimes she let's me go fishing." And some money to pick out what trolling motor I want. I would have to say Santa was pretty good to me this year.
Hope everyone is having a Merry Christmas!

Well, the kids had a wonderful Christmas. They got most of what they wanted. They even got a trip to Disneyland next week from Grandma, so I get to drive to LaLaland and visit the big expensive rodent.

I got a Garmin Vista Cx handheld GPS, lots of gift certificates, new speakers for the truck and all the usual dad stuff

Instead of the usual gifts, my wife and I decided to treat ourselves to a trip. Just got back from a five day cruise to Catalina Island and Ensenada. Had a great time. Lots of rum punch drinks and lobster dinners. Spent some time trying to figure out how to troll off my balcony

My in-laws are on their way over to the house...they traditionally buy my new fishing liscense....I've got my fingers crossed.

Happy Holidays all.

I got a new Loomis from my buddy Mace the day before Christmas. I hope he enjoys the Huddleston Craws in the different colors I got him....Some how I came out ahead for another Christmas with Mace. That's the second Loomis rod he's given me so If you've seen Charlie and the Chocolate factory you'll know why he's got a golden ticket that can't be revoked. He says he's dreading my leaving....New waters are always good

Hey Dom

I did a 70 1/2 Camaro a few years back! Took me two years to get it done. It wasnt an R/S and it was barely street legal. I didnt run it on the street though. It only got 4 Gal/mi. Yep thats right 4 gallons per mile. Had a 900hp 540 ci BBC stuffed in it.

you can see the build at http://www.billbeau.net click on Camaro[/url]

Got a fat gift certificate to BPS from the girlfriend. So far I've ordered a Stingray XP II Hydrofoil and, of course, it was backordered. :(

Also got a Coleman butane powered 3,000BTU heater. Need to secure it under the console. Should take some of the chill off.

And, for myself, a new computer. Or, more correctly, the parts to build one. I custom build my own comps. No DELL-CRAPO for me. :)

My christmas was a good one. It is mainly now for the kids and to keep the kids interest in the sport that we call bass fishing. I didnt get any gear, and that didnt bother me a bit, but my son got his first curado, "NEW ONE" Heck I am still fishing the old style. With a shimano rod to boot. Huh wonder who he will get to break that in. Remember to teach a child how to fish so we can keep this sport alive for our grandchildren to enjoy. Happy new years to all and may the next year be better trophy fishing than last year. It has to be, I struggeled with only 4 over 10 this year but then again that full time job sure gets in the way. Wow that is some HOT ROD AWSOME! I can just imagine all the $$$$ you sank into that. I am not looking to go that extreme we are gonna pull the body and blast the frame then powder coat (got a friend) replace all bushings,etc... then the basics body, paint, interior, motor, trans. (again I got friends)

But dont be suprised if you get a PM from me later I might get stuck and need the help. I figure I will be into it about $6000.00 when done I picked it up for $300.00!!!! I got it from a customer on my route. I KNOW SCORE! So I got alot of room to invest

He knows what its worth but like he told me he dont have the interest in sinking money into it but would like to see on the road again so he just about gave it to me. It has a clean title,no rust(besides just surface rust nothing a D-8 cant fix and needs the front fender and grill replaced so I ordered a complete front clip from JC whitney (after market parts) So should be a great investment. I have a plan made out with the cost for each step.

Ho yea this is a fishing site so lets make this fit, then when I am done working on it I can hit the delta and hook me some of them HAWGLETTS :D

Don't think I have to worry, Dan. The heater is catalytic and flameless. All it does is generate heat.
