Gps anttena

Post by basslayer »

Im getting ready to ad better electronics to my bass boat. I get mixed opinions on weather I should go internal or external antenna on the lowrance 300 series im looking at. I would rather go internal but ive heard external might be better. Can anyone give feedback on this matter

From what I've heard, the internals have issues with interference/noise, but that's all third party heresay. An external allows placement of the antenna anywhere on the boat, and if it ever fails, you don't need an entire unit!

While the internal antenna is more convienent and in many installations it will work just fine, if you do end up with problems from interference, signal blockage etc, you will have pretty close to zero options to fix them. The seperate antenna allows more flexability.

Not knowing your actual installation, I'd have to say stick with the seperate antenna system to be safe.
