BROOKELAND, Texas (KTRE) - A Broaddus angler won the season opener of the 2021 Phoenix Bass Fishing League at Sam Rayburn Reservoir on Saturday.

Derek Mundy’s five-bass limit weighed a total of 40 pounds and 10 ounces, which was more than 12 pounds more than the second-place finisher’s total. Mundy earned $7,000 with the win.

49# bag last year at Rayburn “ during a Texas Team Trail “ event ! lake had some donkeys !

Lake fork Sam Rayburn = Giant Bass
Not much changing lots of big fish come out of those lakes than any other in Texas.
Not shocked they do such a good job of taking care of there fisherys than they do here in CA.
Also there are a chain of privately owned ponds in texas they push out DD and Teeners like B@M! I think threre is a waiting list and i believe last i checked 150$ for 1 day per angler. Not a real challenge at the Private ponds [but man Texas has so many good places to catch Mondo Bass!
