JASPER, Texas (KTRE) - Winnsboro angler Pake South had a record-breaking performance, winning the Turtlebox Bassmaster Open at Sam Rayburn Reservoir in Jasper.
South’s three-day total of 96 pounds, 15 ounces is the heaviest winning weight ever in Bassmaster Open competition.
After weighing 34 pounds, 4 ounces on Friday to take the lead, South had an even heavier bag on Saturday, weighing 34 pounds, 10 ounces. South won the event by 15 pounds, 14 ounces and brought home a $45,000 check.
