Power tilt/trim repair (yamaha F115)

Post by pb1967 »

My F115 is almost three seasons old and has 115 hours on it. Today after fishing I noticed I have developed a leak somewhere in the power tilt/trim unit, but I can't tell where it's coming from. I am still under warranty so a repair should not be a problem, just a pain to haul it to the shop and leave it.

I had a Delta trip planned tomorrow with some co-workers so I have cancelled on them. I am wondering though if you guys have any "easy" repair experiences with these units (i.e. loose screws etc...) that I could go out and check myself so I don't have to stand by the cancellation. Otherwise it will mean taking a day off and going to the shop.

Thanks guys! 8) 8)

Call Mike Van Wagner @ Capitol City Marine. When I had a problem with my Yamaha he first tried to help me over the phone, then when that didin't work, he set me up with a drop off and pick up date that didin't effect any trip I had planned.
I drove past several dealers to deal with him upon the recomendation of many on this board. I feel it was worth the extra hour on the road, to be treated honestly, and come away with a new friend.. Here's the info
