Pretty cool history.......

Post by D.B.COOPER »

my father just told me. Back in Ireland where my mother and father were born there is a a river called the Little Brosna River(county Offaly/Tipperary) where my great great grandfather, great grandfather, grandfather, my father, myself, and my son all have fished in the same area of this river and all have caught trout out of the same hole. Incredible! 6 generations of McGee's fishing on the same grounds. Not a lot of people can say that. No wonder I got the fishing bug real bad :). It's a pretty cool feeling. This would be a good new topic. D.B.COOPER 8)

That's great. Do you know how much that area of the river has changed over the generations?

Are/were there many "public" waters in Ireland? I know in the UK (and much of Europe in general?) water and game aren't as accessible to the general population. Are licenses to take fish or game there prohibitively expensive?

What were the penalties for taking the King's game? :D
