Ken, my GPS worked fine after switching from LGC 2000 to LGC 4000 and I input the updates. However, there is a five or six second delay before diaplaying the bottom which creates a problem seeing a fish moving in to my drop shot. It used to be instantaneous. I could raise and lower the drop shot and immediately see the movement.
On the right side of the attached photo there is a white space between the two bottom colors that is causing the problem. Is this something I will have to live with or is there a way to remove the white area?

Re: Problem after switching to LGC 4000
The LGC 4000 is a high speed GPS antenna and requires a pretty fast processor to assimilate the data. This is slowing down the processor in your old LMS 337 and this is why the sonar is slow. The LGC 4000 is optimally utilized by an HDS unit because it has the speed to do everything required for great Broadband sonar and high speed GPS accuracy.

Make sure your ping speed is also set to max, and you might want to increase your chart scroll speed.

Re: Problem after switching to LGC 4000
Thanks for info Marc. If the wind ever lays down here in So Cal I'll get out and give it a try. I'll post results. While researching, I have seen other posted photos that show the same white space that I now have, so I'm sure there are other fishermen having the same problem.
Re: Problem after switching to LGC 4000
I was finally able to get to the lake thursday. Prior to leaving the house I noticed that I had apparently hit something and the transducer was not shooting straight down...just a little off. I readjusted it.
First thing I did upon getting on the water was to turn off the amplitude scope which removed the white space that I thought to to be the problem. I then dropped down a spoon and immediately saw the movement as I jigged it up and down. I thought that the amplitude scope change solved the problem, but switching it on and off made no difference other than filling in the white space. There was no delay either way now.
Although I don't think the misaligned transducer could cause the delay, that was the only thing I changed.
In any event the unit is working fine. Thanks to Ken and Marc for advice.

Glad it is working properly now. Actually the smallest of angles makes a difference in your picture quality. Still make sure your ping speed is set to 18 or above.
