Restore the Delta and River Partners presents Hell or High Water

Post by WB Staff »

Restore the Delta and River Partners presents “Hell or High Water: How Stockton Can Prepare for the Risk of Flood Disaster" a virtual symposium on January 26th.

This symposium will be led by panelists from local and state government entities, community leaders, flood experts and esteemed researchers who will provide insight on flood management issues, their solutions and will inform the public on what to expect from the capitol regarding investments in flood protection. This event will cover various topics that will explore Stockton’s Growing Flood Risk, Flood Risk from the Community Perspective, The View from the Capitol, and Planning and Building Solutions.

With atmospheric storms on the rise, it is imperative that we talk through potential and projected risks, have transparency on flood infrastructure improvement challenges, and discuss the solutions on the local and state level.

Speakers include Congressman Josh Harder, Stockton City Council Womxn Kimberly Warmsley, UCLA Climate Scientist Daniel Swain, the Central Valley Flood Protection Board, San Joaquin Area Flood Control Agency, Restore the Delta, River Partners, Little Manilla Rising and Public Health Advocates.

The symposium will be a one day virtual event and will take place on January 26th from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. We hope to see you there!

Josh Harder? No thanks. Don’t trust anything that he says because he’s a good Nancy, Gavin, Democrat who is enriching his life in politics. They won’t build dams for saving the water but they think they are in control of everything. They are not that smart folks. They have a agenda that includes their personal wealth. Millions for illegals education and healthcare and welfare for the purpose of their vote. Divide the people into groups is the same way that Dictators used to gain power and money. They do exactly what they accused others of doing, listening to what they say and then watch what they do. Close schools, Fire people who won’t get a vaccine, regulations and highest taxes in the country, shutting down the fuel industry raise the cost of everything, threatening oil industry for the cost of fuel while keeping them from producing off coast and building wind farms. Hypocrites. Storms are not a result of climate change but something California has always experienced along with the flooding. Thank God politicians are not in control of the climate because they can’t do their own job properly stealing taxpayers billions for their own purposes. I love fishing and think politicians are the problem not the answer. California flooding is better now than many years ago when we had no reservoirs for saving our water.

I think, no matter who is in charge, climate change and global warming are real, and, unless we address them here in NorCal, we will lose the Delta.
I, for one, am glad these folks are on our side. They care about the Delta.

Half the people on that board are politicians from Stockton.... Is that really who you want on YOUR side Mark? I mean they have done such a wonderful job managing everything else right?
