Restore the Delta is asking you to take special action

Post by sTony »

Restore the Delta is asking you to take special action on behalf of protecting the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta.

Thank you for your support for the Delta.

Stop The Water Bond That Aims For The Peripheral Canal
Over the next two weeks, The California State Assembly will still be deciding whether or not to place a water bond calling for the design of the peripheral canal on the November ballot.
Please call the members of the Assembly Special Water Committee (numbers are below) to let them know that you oppose this proposed bond for the following reasons:

1) The peripheral canal will not solve the crisis in the Delta or make more water for California.

2) The Department of Water Resources, while working on projects on behalf of the State Water Contractors, fails to answer for the people of the Delta "How much fresh water is required for the health of the Delta estuary?"

3) The peripheral canal will not restore fish populations.

4) The peripheral canal will destroy the $ 2 billion Delta agricultural economy.

I called each and every name on the list. Less than fifteen minutes of time. Cannot hurt to give a little time to let them know. If we are not heard, we cannot complain what it will be like for us, our children, and the rest of California if they decimate our waterways.
The numbers are listed, its easy to call and share our feelings.

I am for protecting the native species in the delta, but the name is misleading... if we were to truly restore the delta there would be no levees and it would be a big shallow marshland for miles instead of 20' channels.

Rough Thumb please pull your head from the nether regions. Though the name is misleading to you "restore the delta" is not referring to pre-1900.(I really hope you were kiddin). If you really support native species then you must not like fishin' for black and striped bass    I think you might be on the wrong forum :?: FYI both of these species are non-native to the west coast. You might want to think before you post in the future.

Amazing! Not sure why you are so bitter and rude....

Restore is defined as " to bring back to a former, original, or normal condition". Their own byline quoted in the original post doesn't talk about restoration, it talks about improving water quality (which is definately a good thing).

So are you saying that a bass fisherman can not support native species?

Definately not the case here.

Maybe you need to pull your head out before you fly off the handle.

Yes amazing,
Amazing that you still don't get it, and want to read definition from Webster's rather than feel the spirit of the the post which I think most people can recognize. So here I will slow it down for you." Restore the Delta" is the name of the org.It is not misleading because they are out to "restore" water quality. They do not intend to do so by makin the delta a swamp again.Nuff said

Thanks for throwin some in some pretty well known history though. Now quit bitchin at me and contact that list of politicians that are screwin with our water. Because you support native species dammit.
