8/27/2011 Diamond Valley

On our way to the event, 55 mph we got a blowout on our motorhome, Luckily for us we were able to drive (5 mph) to Ramona TIre in Temecula. They put us to the front of the line, put 2 new tires on it and off we went getting to the lake at 5 p.m. Megan, Dan and the rest of the crew from Last Chance stepped into high gear and got the signups started and the barbecue going. With a total of 104 teams signing up, they were launched and blasted off in time to run....25 mph to their first spot

. Oh and while passing out the candy, I got stung by a bee

Luckily the DFG was there and helped me make sure the stinger was out...uggg!

Thanks again to all those that showed up and enjoyed a beautiful night at Diamond Valley Lake. Last Chance Bait and Tackle spoiled each angler with a 10% off coupon. Just another way for them to show their appreciation for the continued support that you all give to them.

With an entry fee of $40 which pays for the lake and the bbq, the anglers had a the additional option of entering in to the big bass option. This option went to $20. The top 5 big bass of the event won. George and Margaret Fedor brought in the biggest bass. She weighed in at 8.65# edging the second place team by only .10 of a pound.

We at National Bass West are SO VERY APPRECIATIVE for the support that you continue to give to us. Mike and I have made so many good friends through running these events. Our passion for running events only gets stronger! We thank you and look forward to seeing you at our 2011 Havasu Classic on October 15/16, 2011 for those that qualified. Our new season at Diamond Valley Lake will start on November 6, 2011. Hope to see you all there.

All in all, this was a great event and a great ending to the night series for National Bass West and Last Chance Bait and Tackle.

Mike and Lynne,

Thanks for running a great and fun tournament. The fishing was off the hook and you whipped through the 104 boats quickly.

You forgot to mention the several $200 random giveaways (of which I missed by .08 of ounce

.08 is nothing. When she said "4 pounds" - I started walking toward the trailer since we had 3.97. Then she said someone had exactly 4 pounds

Oh....yes there were 4 mystery boat winners who each received $225 for just being there

AND

yes, there were 3 mystery weight winners who were closest to the weight that was drawn and not over AND present during the ceremony.

I was not aware we had to be present. I hope I didn't miss it because of that.
