Sac river stripers (Downtown)

My dad and I tried something new and started at Garcia bend and threw lipless cranks at the bank and worked to freeport. We caught a bunch of smallmouth and a largie but no stripers. It was a big change of pace from the delta. I dont think Ill be doing that anytime again. have any of you tried this and had success? I was sure we would catch at least one but it was weak. How has the delta been?

I know this is a striper forum but I cant resist to ask about the size of the smallmouth.

up to 2.5 pounds but crazy fun. Did it again up by the wing dams by the airport. Caught less fish but better quality.
