Sacramento Fisherman's Warehouse

Post by Alan Fong »

Just want to put the word out that last night some guys cut a hole in our roof and stole reels, fishfinders and money! These guys knew where to go and get the goods in the dark. We will be looking at all web sites and auctions for these guys. We do have cameras in the store and we are turning the footage over to the police to see if they can find the crooks. So be aware of what you are buying as we do have serial numbers. Thanks!

Alan, sorry to hear about this. Did they take a variety of items or specifically all shimano or diawa?

That's terrible news. Sorry for your losses.
Seems like, whenever economic times get bad, this kind of robbery gets more common.
And, with the advent of cordless sawzalls and skilsaws, it's much easier for thieves to do their dirty work.
They probably used stolen tools, too.
I hope the police catch this scum.

Thank goodness for insurance. These guys might be extra catchable because they used a fairly technicall method of breaking in, they may have done it before.

I always hate hearing about this kind of stuff. We had one of our facilities (Golf Course) broken into multiple times a year or so ago. So many times that the authorities listed it on Crime Stoppers. Alarms, Cameras, even a Varda Alarm and it still continued. It is not only a pain in the a#$ but the loss hurts everyone. There comes a point where you can't claim the loss through insurance. Hopefully it is a one time shot and they catch the lowlifes.
Don't ask about my username, all I need to say is check yours and check them often.

I remember about ten years ago there was a group that specialized in breaking into fast food places through the roof-similar break in method. Were they ever caught or suspects found?

I guarantee you that a large doberman or german shephard would have kept these scumbags out. Get a shop dog or two and it will be the cheapest alarm system you will ever have. Oh and just make sure they get to know the staff well. :D

The only thing a dog will stop in a building is a .22 or a X Bow. So know you get to work in the AM. and you have a dead pet and your stuff is gone

Time to upgrade the old alarm system Alan and get more and better motion detectors. With the governor releasing 6500 more inmates from prison, I'm sure crime will go up. Bad guys probably checked you out at the ISE show and saw that you were giving things away and wanted more.

Seriously !! -- I imagine no matter how old your alarm system is (15 years ?? ) - You can add a 2-in-1 both Thermal AND a MicroWave motion detector to your system at various points. You can get a 2-1 for under $50 for wired -- some bit more for unwired.

Costco converted to Both Imaging Alarm systems along time ago as when their roofs were cut open - Jewlery/Electronics Ect taken..., as well as the tobbacco shops local here in Oakley.

Sorry about your loss, Same with Delta Outdoors, The place in Manteca or near there as well ..... But at least you have them on camera. :?
You know, we always called each other goodfellas. Like, you'd say to somebody: "You're gonna like this guy; he's all right. He's a goodfella. He's one of us." You understand? We were goodfellas, wiseguys.
